Macs are typically better with media than windows machines. Quote from: Jeff Foster on September 11, 2015, 08:14:18 AM I'm not surprised about this at all. Generally, there isn't much you have to do when using a Mac, so while you can get Windows to perform well with this stuff, it's a lot harder to do. That's one reason why I can get the total latency down to 8.9ms on my rig (i7, 16GB, Win7 Pro) when using the USB interface on the TF. I will say that it does make a big difference. A lot of recording interface makers have articles about what needs to be done, so I won't repeat all that here.

Something that I should add to my findings is that if you are using a Windows machine, you also need to "tune" it for audio. I get lower latency with that setup, but I can't remember off-hand what the exact numbers are.

(I have a Saffire Pro 40 that I also use for running plugs with analog consoles. Even though I have Firewire built in my laptop, I still use a separate ExpressCard Firewire card that has the TX Instruments chipset. (Most in-laptop firewire chipsets are VIA or other). VIA and other brands may work, but won't work as well. TX Instruments Firewire chips are the best for audio. For example, Firewire chipsets are notoriously varied in their performance. However, I would add that there is a large variety of Windows hardware out there and some devices work better than others. Intrigue is a express audio recorder.I'm not surprised about this at all. Fix: Error messages when typing numbers in to 'spin-edits' (the text boxes with buttons next to them) New: You can now change the incoming MIDI channel before sending it to the plugin. Change: Look for new plugins on startup feature has been removed. Fix: Delete cue list did not refresh the cuelist panel sometimes.

Tapping four times sets the tempo tapping 2 or 6 times sets the tempo after the time out. Change: Tap-Tempo now times out after a given set of seconds. Fix: Resizing program window no longer hides Navigator, Global snapshots window, etc Fix: Midimute could cause hang on sustain pedal Fix: Deactivating IO on FireFace 400 (and probably some others) where not saved properly. Fix: Instability when triggering cues containing a workspace change via individual midi triggers. Created a work around for waves plugins that where leaking memory, potentially causing a 'Out of resources' error and crash. What´s New in version 2.4.2 Beta: (Fix: Changed the way plugins are scanned for in the plugin manager. Easy user interface for fast and simple workflow. Using a standard ASIO-card you can have as many inputs and outputs you like. Any plugin parameter can be controlled with a midi message. To control instruments or to allow hands-on control of plugins Cue list - Multiple cue lists for recalling snapshots, changing routing etc. Easy routing - The matrix view makes it easy to see what is patched where Snapshot automation of each plugin. Both effects and VST-instruments are supported. Features: As many VST plugins as your computer can handle. We are adding new features and improvements all the time. LiveProfessor is at version Beta 2.4x at the moment so it’s not at all consider to be finished. The program supports snapshots, MIDI and both VST-effects and VST-instrument. Using a ASIO audio card you can route inputs and outputs through your VST-plugins. We have designed it specifically with live sound in mind. LiveProfessor is designed to be an effect rack of VST-plugins.
